IDOGBO - The Chairman of lkpoba-Okha Local Government, Hon Itohan Osahon, has been commended for promoting the game of golf in Nigeria, especially amongst the female folk.
The commendation was made by the captain of the ladies division of the Benin Golf Club, Mrs. Lucy Onoabhagbe, when she led other golf executives on a courtesy visit to the Council Chairman.

She described Mrs. Itohan Osahon as a hard-working woman who has zero-tolerance for indolence and laziness, and called on women to emulate her doggedness in the fight against injustice and oppression.

Mrs. Onoabhagbe expressed confidence that Hon Itohan Osahon, who is the President of Lady-golfers in Nigeria, would use her wealth of experience in the organized private sector to transform lkpoba-Okha Local Government Area.

She said their visit to the local government secretariat was to felicitate with Hon. ltohan Osahon on her victory at the Appeal Tribunal, and also to formally invite her to this year’s annual ladies golf tournament scheduled for October 10 through October 12, 2008.

The golf captain expressed joy that Hon. Itohan Osahon, who is the national president of lady golfers, had made history by being the first democratically elected female council chairman in Edo State.

• Responding, the chairman of lkpoba-Okha Local Government, Hon. Itohan Osahon, expressed appreciation to the lady golfers for their support and show of love.

She promised to render the necessary assistance towards sports development, generally in lkpoba-Okha Local Government Area, and called on the organized private sector to partner with her administration in this regard.
