LAGOS - A scheme to assist cyclists own their own bicycles is being worked out between the Lagos Cycling Association (LSCA) and two sports marketing companies in the state.
LSCA Chairman Jibola Keshinro told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos that complaints of lack of bicycles by riders in the state would soon be addressed.
Keshinro, who refused to disclose the names of the marketing companies, said the payment arrangements would not strain the cyclists, adding that the terms of agreement were being finalised.
“Our cyclists will soon get what they require to make them better riders at good prices and easy payment arrangements,’’ Keshinro said.
On the constraints of cycling in Lagos, the Chairman said good routes for the riders to train was a major problem facing the association.
He said that the Iloh Cycling Club, owned by Rev. Moses Iloh, a former President of the Cycling Federation of Nigeria (CFN), and other privately -owned clubs were providing the association with technical and logistics backing.
Meanwhile, the association’s open camp has taken off to begin preparation for the 16th National Sports Festival in November in Kaduna.
