The Edo State Chapter of Cement, Rods and Asbestos Dealers Association of Nigeria, (CRADAN) has petitioned the members of National Union of Road Transport Workers for allegedly molesting its drivers while carrying out their legitimate duties on the road.
The association secretary, Mr. Eyinsan Dan Esiegbuya made the petition when the executive members of the association paid a courtesy call on the State Compol yesterday at the State Police Headquarters, Benin City.
Speaking at the meeting, Barrister H.A. Garja, the association’s solicitor, stated that, the purpose of the visit was to intimate the commissioner of the problems they are facing on the road among others while carrying out their legitimate duties. “We do not want to comint any offence before coming to the police” He said.
Responding, the Edo State Police Commissioner stated that, the police may not be in a position to enforce association or union’s laws, adding that, the association lawyers should make a copy of the petition or complain regarding the issue.
