86 Wives Demand Release Of Masab

Malam Mohammed Masaba’s 86 wives and children on Thursday stormed the Niger Ministry of Justice, demanding his release. The 84-year old Masaba was remanded in prison custody by a Sharia Court for allegedly contravening Islamic law. Hajiya Aisha Masaba, one of the wives, who spoke with newsmen at the scene of the demonstration in Minna, said “we are here to seek justice, let Sharia law leave us alone.” She said their husband had not done anything wrong to warrant arrest and imprisonment.
