THE Federation of Uganda Football Association (Fufa) and the Uganda Super League Limited (USLL), the original broadcast partners who sold rights to SuperSport were expected to will appear in Court yesterday.
USLL under the chairmanship of Kavuma Kabenge took the matter to Court over the abrupt termination of the broadcast contract for the Ugandan League. Last month Court ordered that new partners who signed a contract with the FA, Azam TV would not broadcast any of the games till the matter is sorted.
Fred Muwema, Richard Mulema Mukasa and Andrew Oluka, the lawyers who represented USLL urged that it was paramount to stop the broadcast by the new sponsor.
The development comes after USLL urged that the contract with them was hurriedly terminated and another sponsor got by the Football Federation.
But one of the lawyers representing the Football Federation told Court that the former broadcasters Super Sport failed to meet some aspects of the contract and they went ahead to give them a notice of termination, after which they terminated and signed with a new broadcaster Azam TV.
