Lagos – The duo of Femi and Seun Anikulapo-Kuti on Friday night in Lagos thrilled fans like never before; in special live concert at the Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the show tagged the “2 Kings Concert’’, featured the two sons of the late Afro beat legend, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, in a rare joint appearance.
The enthralling show also featured other notable artistes whose acts preceded Femi and Seun, and was anchored by, Olisa Adibua, a renowned On-Air Personality.
The featured artistes were, Adekunle Gold, Museba (cameroun), Simi, Ayoola, Ruby, Niniola, Rayce, Lil Kesh, Black Magic, Oritsefemi, Jesse Jagz, Jagadot, Seyi Shay, DJ Caise and DJ Jimmy Jatt.
Originally advertised to commence at 8p.m. the show did not start until 10 p.m.  and it was past 12 midnight before Seun made an appearance on stage after the supporting artistes had all performed.
Seun, however, made it a performance that was worth waiting for, as he took over the entire stage by dancing, playing the piano and the saxophone, and conducting his band and singing.
Seun started with ‘’Opposite People’’ an original number by Fela;  which he said he usually did at all his concerts as a sign of respect to his late father.
By the time he concluded and Femi came on stage, the hall was a bee hive of excitement.
Femi in his typical manner also delivered a very energetic performance, accompanied with a non-stop puff on his saxophone that lasted beyond ten minutes, which literally brought the roof down.
Some of the notable faces in the audience were the immediate past Managing Director of United Bank for Africa, Tony Elumelu and his predecessor, Philip Odozua.
Audu Maikori, the Chairman of Chocolate City Music, was also in attendance and he said that he was impressed.
“I am impressed that Femi and Seun could take time off their busy world tours, to perform together on Lagos island instead of their usual abode; the Shrine,’’he said.
In the same vein, Ikhane Akhigbe, the chairman of Aboriginal Music, also urged the Kutis to perform more in Nigeria and urged other Nigerian artistes to emulate them and their style of performance.
DJ Jimmy Jatt described Femi as the best artiste in the whole of Africa and said that Nigeria was proud to have him.
The concert eventually tapered to an ended at about 3a.m.
