BENIN CITY- The forum of leaders of All Progressives Congress, APC, in Edo State, met on Tuesday in Benin City and reviewed the party’s performance in the recent elections and strategized towards becoming more popular and service- oriented.
At the end of the meeting which was jointly presided over by the State Chairman, Mr. Anselm Ojezua and the Governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, the forum resolved to encourage the State government to intensify its developmental effort towards meeting the need of the people.
The forum commended Comrade Governor Oshiomhole for paying workers salaries up-to-date and at the same time sustaining the tempo of development throughout the state despite the financial crisis rocking the country.
Speakers at the forum particularly hailed the on-going re construction of Second East Circular Road in Benin City which has been abandoned for decades by successive regimes.
The forum however resolved to probe all allegations of internal betrayal and sabotage during the recent elections.
The forum debunked the rumour that some persons have been nominated to the president-elect for appointment into the yet-to-be-inaugurated APC -controlled Federal Government and assured members and the public that no nomination would be made until the government is inaugurated and request for nomination made by the president.
The forum assured all that due process will be followed transparently when it is time for nominations
The forum disbanded all sectional and divisive groupings within the party specifically Edo In Safe Hands and Edo Solidarity Movement and directed all governorship aspirants to canvass their aspirations within constitutional party structures and leadership.
The forum thanked the good people of Edo State for their overwhelming and inspiring support during the election.
