AFOKPELLA- The Eshozemhogie I of Imiamune Afokpell-Okpella in Etsako East Local Government Area, Edo State Chief Afiebor Peter has called on Governor Adams Oshiomhole to prevail in the Federal Ministry of Water Resources to take steps to address the abandoned Petroleum Trust Fund (PTF) Afokpella water project with a view to providing water for the people in the locality.
Addressing a press conference in Afokpella, the traditional ruler disclosed that though officials from the ministry recently visited the area to take inventory of the materials left over, the community was yet to hear from them thereafter.
He also called on Governor Oshiomhole to assist the ministry track one Sanni Muhammed from Okene in Kogi whom he alleged carted away with many of the water pipes meant for the project.
Chief Afiebor used the occasion to commend the state government for embarking on grading and asphalting of the 24 killometres Ogiriga/Imiekuri earth road as well as the peaceful resolution of the dispute between Afokpella and Igbira Communities over the location where the Obu cement factory is cited.
