The LAPO Institute, a centre for capacity development, research and advocacy is set to hold its maiden Annual Conference on Microfinance and Enterprise Development.
The conference with the theme: Microfinance, Social Inclusion and National Development would hold between July 6 and 7th, 2015 at its corporate headquarters in Uselu, Benin City with the Executive Governor of Edo State, Comrade Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole as special guest of honour.
The forum, aimed at promoting Microfinance and Enterprise Development in Nigeria and Africa in general shall be declared open by the Managing Director of LAPO Microfinance Bank Limited, Dr. Godwin Ehigiamusoe.
The conference will bring together the academia, practitioners and stakeholders in development to examine the current state and challenges bedeviling the microfinance industry towards repositioning it as a veritable instrument to enhance social inclusion and accelerated national development.
Prof. Mike Obadan of the University of Benin shall chair the occasion with a key note address to be delivered by Mr. Godwin Emefiele, Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria.
Dr. Buno Nduka, Director of Programme and Projects at the Inter-Governmental Action Group Against Money Laundering in West Africa, Dr. Godwin Ehigiamusoe and Prof. (Mrs.) Christiana Okojie of the University of the Benin shall deliver lead papers at the maiden annual conference.
