The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on Wednesday said it had concluded arrangements for the Super Eagles’ 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier away to Tanzania in Dar es Salaam.
A statement on the NFF website quoted NFF General Secretary Mohammed Sanusi as saying all arrangements, including flight bookings and hotel reservations in Dar es Salaam, have been concluded.
It said the football governing body had reached an agreement with a leading Nigerian airline to take the team into Dar es Salaam and back to Nigeria.
“Departure will be from the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja and the return set for the Port Harcourt International Airport,’’ the statement quoted Sanusi as saying.
It further said the chartered flight would convey the delegation into Dar es Salaam on the eve of the match, as Tanzania is a high altitude zone.
The statement added that the delegation would depart Dar es Salaam immediately after the match for Port Harcourt, where the Eagles will take on the Mena of Niger.
The Nigeria/Niger international friendly is on September 8.
Nigeria and Egypt have three points each from Match Day One fixtures in the 2017 AFCON Qualification Group G, with the Pharaohs ahead on a +1 goal advantage.
The Pharaohs had defeated Tanzania 3-0 in Cairo in the encounter, while Nigeria defeated Chad 2-0 in Kaduna.
Egypt are expected to travel to Ndjamena to confront the Les Sao of Chad the same weekend the Eagles will square up against Tanzania in Dar es Salaam
