BENIN CITY-A prominent youth activist and Chairman of Ulemon Community Development Association, Iyekogba, Ambassador Julius Iredia-Adun, has applauded the developmental strides of Edo State Governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.
In a release, Ambassador Adun affirmed that the approval of the 75 Million Dollars World Bank loan by the Nigerian Senate would further accelerate the rate of development across Edo State as it attests to the prudent and creative deployment of scare resources by the present administration.
The community leader called on the leadership of the Nigerian Senate to institute a probe into the abandonment of the Iyekogba-Ulemon road project awarded by the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), to a contracting firm, Xapon (Nigeria) Limited; maintaining that funds for the road project has been duly appropriated and released for its execution.
Ambassador Adun stated that the people in the benefitting communities are been subjected to untold hardship owing to the deplorable state of the road.
He noted that all concerted efforts initiated by Edo State Government and relevant stakeholders to reach-out to the NDDC on the way forward have not yielded the desired results and commended Comrade Adams Oshiomhole for tarring the Airport-Ogba Road up to the Ogba river bridge.
He commended Dr. Bukola Saraki on his emergence as Senate President and expressed optimism that he would provide the much needed dynamic leadership expected of him by Nigerians- irrespective of ethnic, religious or political divide.
