BENIN CITY – Secretary to Edo State Government, Prof. Julius Ihonvbere has called for a proper orientation of people towards roles played by women in the society.

He commended them for their willingness and ability to put together a group anchored on good governance, encouragement geared towards upholding and improving the visibility and relevance of women in the society.
The SSG advised them to take advantage of what government has to offer, to improve and empower themselves.
Prof. Ihonvbere who noted that they may have to go against conservative religious bodies, and beliefs that are steeped in traditional ideas, encouraged them to go on enlightenment visits and partner with organizations to achieve greater heights.
The SSG also remarked that the present administration has shown that “it is commitment, dedication, sincerity, hard work and courage that develops a people, not money.”
He opined that the next person who takes over the administration of the state, should be someone who is committed, has vision, courage and focus to take Edo State to the next level, and must be willing to support democracy in all ramifications.
President, Great Edo Women for Good Governance, Mrs. Joy Obazee commended Prof. Ihonvbere for his works and character which speak of his integrity and promised more support by the women.
