Lagos – The Managing Director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Mr Saleh Dunoma, has advised the Turkish Airlines to resolve the recurrent cases of conveying passengers without their luggage.

Dunoma gave the advice in Lagos on Saturday in a statement issued by FAAN’s General Manager, Corporate Affairs, Mr Yakubu Dati.

The airline in its flight TK 624 from Istanbul to Abuja on Saturday repeated the omission which also happened barely two weeks ago.

Some of the aggrieved passengers had invaded the tarmac, demanding for their luggage, though the airline compensated them after investigations by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).

The statement said Dunoma, who spoke at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja on Saturday, expressed the transport ministry’s displeasure with the development.

The statement described as unacceptable, a repeat of the incident barely two weeks that a similar one had led to a breach of airport security.

The statement said Dunoma called for a quick and lasting resolution of the matter, which is capable of disrupting the peace and harmony in the airport.

The managing director, however, implored the affected passengers to remain calm and law abiding as the authority was making efforts to find a lasting solution to the problem.
