BENIN CITY- Ahead of the 2016 gubernatorial election in Edo State, former Governor of Midwest/Bendel State Dr. Samuel Osaigbovo Ogbemudia has said that the adoption of a candidate and Political Party is imminent, as necessary consultations were in their final stage.
The elderstatesman gave the hint yesterday in Benin City when he received some community leaders led by the President of Edo Movement for Good Governance, Mr. Michael Igbinedion.
Dr. Ogbemudia thanked his visitors   for the immense interest they have showed in the common good of Edo people.
Dr. Ogbemudia recalled that the clamour   by diverse sections of the society for good governance on solidarity visitors to him since 2014 led to the revival of the Edo Mass  Movement (EMM) as a non-partisan platform in search of a suitable public-spirited candidate for the 2016 Governorship election in Edo State.
Earlier, the leader of Edo Movement for Good Governance, Mr. Michael Igbinedion thanked Dr. Ogbemudia for his selfless services to the nation, describing him as a “vessel for God’s divine purpose for Nigeria in general  and Edo State in particular”.
Igbinedion recalled that two years ago, his organization took their turn to lend support to the persistent request by diverse groups that Dr. Ogbemudia brought his moral and political leadership to bear ensuring the maintenance of Good Governance in Edo State after November 2016 by helping in the selection of a suitable candidate.

The group further acknowledged the efforts made so far by Dr. Ogbemudia as widely supported in the media, stating, “We are aware of your community visits, personal interactions with different individuals, groups, and even political parties”.
“The entire Edo State is waiting for its inimitable statesman to declare the direction to go in pursuit of good governance, and so are we. This is the reason we are here sir-what we will hear today will prepare us and your numerous followers for the work that must be done”, Mr. Igbinedion said.
