BENIN CITY-A gang of armed men suspected to be robbers have invaded the private residence of one Ernest Obaseki who was shot and dispossessed of his valuables during the bloody attack in Benin City.
It was gathered that Mr Obaseki, 56 is receiving medical attention at a hospital in the state capital.
The armed gang broke into his house at 59, Ohen Street, Ekae area, Sapele Road, Benin City, about 3a.m, last Saturday.
His wife, Mrs Obaseki said she was away with her children that night when the incident occurred.
“I left my husband well only to come back to have met him in a pool of blood”. She stated.
Items said to have been removed from the residence include laptops, iPad and undisclosed amount of money.
The Public Relations Officer for Edo State Police Command SP Osifo Abiodun could not be reached for comments.
