EKPOMA – The Knights of St. John International (KSJI) have been told to uphold the tenets of the order.

This was the charge of the Grand President, Noble Brigadier – General Dr. Anthony A. Ihenyen to the 21st Grand Board of Trustee Meeting (GBOT), held at the Brother Roman Renewal Centre, Ekpoma.

The GBOT which drew delegates from the 25 commandery in the Benin Grand, Comprising Commanderies in Edo and Delta States had in attendance high ranking officers and worthy President, past and serving Brig-General Ihenyen who expressed worry at some level of conduct out of tune with the order warned, “Our grass-root leader, Worthy Presidents Presidents District Commanders and District Respected President must act as quickly as possible to avoid a breakdown.”

While noting that efforts should be intensified to recruit young and dynamic men and women to reduce the burden on the elders of the order, praised the elders who he affirmed had made tremendous contributions to the order, spiritually and financially.

On the theme of the GBOT which was ‘Be ye Merciful as your father is merciful, he said it was apt because it corresponds with the aims and purpose of the jubilee year of mercy and urged all Knights and ladies to be part of the celebration.

On the convention taking place in Buffalo, New York, USA from 18th July 2016, he urged members to uphold the image of Benin Comandery/Auxilary to avoid stringent disciplinary action.

In her remarks, the Grand Respected, Lady (Dr.) Florence Ngozi Ugaji said that as the salt of the church, Knights and ladies must try at all times to live above board. In the address read by lady Dorothy Atumu, 2nd Vice Benin Grand laux president she said that it is not only Nigeria that ready charge but we must constantly examine ourselves and exhibit the sterling qualities of its patron Saint, St. John the Baptist.
