No fewer than 100 youths in Oredo Local government Area of Edo state, yesterday defected to the All Progressives Congress, APC from the People’s Democratic Party, PDP saying Mr Godwin Obaseki’s agenda for Edo people is 100 percent guaranteed.
The youths under the aegis of 100 Per Cent Edo Youth Group from ward 7 in Oredo who were led by Peter and Paul Odijie also known as 10/10, tore their PDP membership card stating that the PDP is dead in the state.
Delighted on the defection, Mr Peter Odijie said youths as agents of development can’t be seen fighting the same development especially in Edo state where infrastructural development has taken a new turn.
He added that the group have resolved to mobilise and deliver total percent votes for Obaseki who according to him will provide 100 percent infrastructural development and industrialisation to the state.
The group however chided the candidate of the PDP, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu saying he is less than a threat to the emergence of Obaseki as governor of the state.
According to him, “As you can see there is a lot of development going on in the state for the past seven and half years and we have said we don’t have to be in opposition to the development in the state so we chose to join the movie train.
“We have come to join Obaseki because he is a man with vision, a man that would bring more development to the state and we in 100 per cent Edo youth group would give him 100 per cent vote and in return he is going to give us 100 per cent infrastructure, development and industrialisation.
He continued, “Ize-Iyamu is not a threat to Obaseki. We as a group we will go to every nooks and crannies of the state to preach the gospel of Obaseki”. He said.
The Ward 7 Chairman, Mr Osamudiamen Osarhenkhoe who welcomed and thank the defectors for supporting the winning candidate in the state assured that the polls will be a walkover for the party.
