Abuja – The House of Representatives, has urged the Acting Inspector General of Police Mr Ibrahim Idris, to ensure thorough investigation of the murder of Mrs Eunice Olawale who was hacked to death.
The house also resolved that the perpetrators are brought to justice and ensure more Police presence in the area where the incidence occurred.

The house also urged the FCT administration to demolish all shanties across FCT in which miscreants are said to be hiding and from which they attack innocent citizens.

This followed a motion under matters of urgent national importance by Rep. Gabriel Kolawole ( APC-Ondo), which was unanimously adopted by members through a voice vote.

Olawole, moving the motion, said that the murder of Mrs Eunice Olawale in Kubwa, Abuja was gruesome, therefore the need to protect other citizens in the FCT.

“The House notes the gruesome murder of, 42 years old Eunice Elisha ,the wife of  Redeemed Pastor, Olawale Elisha  who was hacked to death in  the early hours of Saturday July 9.

“While preaching the gospel a few meters away from her house in Kubwa, an Abuja suburb by unidentified miscreants.

“The house further notes that  late Mrs. Eunice Olawale is from Ilawe (Ekiti   state) while her husband  pastor Elisha Olawale is from Ikare-Akoko in Ondo state.

“And that she was allegedly murdered by miscreants who were said to be annoyed by her early morning preaching in the area.”

According to him,  aware  that this incident has caused ethnic tension in the Federal Capital Territory because some are claiming she was killed by Extremists while others say they are Miscreants.

Olawole further said that there was the need for the house  to be proactive to prevent the breakdown of law and order and  loss of lives.

The house also urged the police to extend the investigation on similar killings states across the country.

The house therefore observed a minute of silence for the departed soul.
