I am periodically compelled to re-act to some funny political statements which often portray absolute strokes on empty drums that make irritating noise like the one credited to Alhaji Abubakar Momoh in the Vanguard of Thursday, August 25, 2016, page 16 on Edo 2016.

One thing can be naturally credited to Alhaji Momoh – his all white-mood of dressing and he looks neat in the attire, but a recollection of his long political meandering sojourns on the political terrain, has been self-destructive.

At a time, he was in APC, when lost out in his bid to be nominated to contest for the Edo North Senatorial seat, he jumped to PDP, in another hard knock, he settled for the new SDP where he was finally grounded flatly.

In his recent move to camp with Ize-Iyamu, one begins to wonder which magic wand along with the usual wand carrying Mr. Dan Orbih, they would perform in Edo North’s vote to un-seat Godwin Obaseki whose main point is to continue with Governor Oshiomhole’s accepted pass mark in performance in the entire Edo State: if I were in Abubakar Momoh’s shoes, I would have been appreciative to Almighty for my achievements during my political journey from the Local Government through the State Assembly and Federal House of Representatives, settle down amongst my people specifically within Imiegba axis, empower the indigenes wherein I would enjoy with my people.

It’s on record that he sunk a borehole in Auchi, (my hometown) but his rural home base needs a rapid developmental attention than Auchi that is already a rapidly developing cosmopolitan town, second to Benin City, the state capital.

I habour no grudge against him, politically or otherwise, but he blindly displays at some given moments, like this time around, his selfish and weightless mundane posture as if he is a political heavy weight in Edo North.

Pretty soon, the buttocks of the fowl would be blown open at the September 10 Governorship election.

As for Mr. Dan Orbih, the PDP State Chairman, Edo North voters need to ask him what he has influenced to the development of that district, even when the former President was on the seat of power?

It’s on record that his late father, Chief M.C.K. Orbih of blessed memory, attracted the sighting of the Comprehensive Health Centre at Ogbona (his place of birth) an arm of the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) when late Orbih was the chairman of the board.

I am ofcourse consoled with the fact, that Dan’s senior brother-Barrister Fred. Orbih, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) is a shining star that adds colour to the image of their late father, who, to date, has an intimidating chieftaincy title as Igetsi of the Sacred Kingdom of Auchi.

I would want Dan Orbih to play politics of realism, not that of irritating utterances, when he recently called on the United State of America’s FBI to investigate Mr. Godwin Obaseki’s positioning of his certificate’s movement.

Good enough, both Alhaji Momoh and Dan Orbih are from Etsako East and Etsako Central Local Government Areas where Governor Oshiomhole’s government has opened up. Prior to Oshiomhole’s emergence, late Admiral Mike Okhai Akhigbe tarred the entire streets in Fugar township, linking Ogbona (Dan’s hometown) and Oshiomhole opened up Alhaji Momoh’s area – Imiegba and Okpekpe, which today has become the Okpekpe International Marathon Race yearly event.

Can’t politicians just retire home and be used to their village siblings as Chief Mike Ogiadomhe is presently resting in his Fugar country home?

Getting published in newspapers with weightless statements like Momoh’s own in question are deceitful and rather noisy.
