Authorities of the  Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma-Edo State have dispelled rumoured school fees increment by the institution.

The vice-chancellor of the university made the clarification during the 56th Inuagural Lecture titled:” Spatio Indicators Model:A Panacea for Realistic Measurement of Socio-Economic Development”, delivered by
Samson Omofonmwan, a professor of Geography and Planning.

He clarified that the school had not increase school fees, and that the management was not contemplating it.

The vice-chancellor whose speech was delivered on his behalf by his deputy vice-chancellor (administration), Prof. Jude Agho said old regular students are to pay the fees they paid last year.

He added that if any increase is noticed in fees released by the university, it was due to the decision of the management to lump up main school fees and other mandatory dues, to save students the stress
of multiple payments.

“I want to let you all know that school fees have not been increased and we are not even thinking of increasing school fees.

“Before this administration came on board, the fees for 100 level students in the 2015/2016 academic session was fixed.

“This is would be the fees to be paid by the new intake. Old students, that is 300L, 400L and 500L regular programmes are required to pay the fees they paid last year”, he clarified.

He used the medium to call on all members of staff to eschew all forms of vices such as ‘blocking’, dalliance, sexual harassment and the likes, capable of causing menace in the system.
