The victory of the All Progressives Congress candidate, Mr. Godwin Obaseki in the September 28th Edo State Gubernatorial elections has received a torrent of congratulatory messages across the country and the roll-call is swelling on a daily basis.

The judiciary in Edo state is not missing out in recognizing this victory – a letter signed by the Chief Judge congratulating Godwin Obaseki said, “for myself and family, and on behalf of all the Honourable Judges and entire staff of Edo state Judiciary, I write to congratulate you on your overwhelming victory at the polls in the just concluded gubernatorial elections in Edo state.

“We pray the good Lord will give you the wisdom and good health of mind and body to discharge the onerous responsibilities of the exalted office of the Governor of Edo state for the betterment of the good people of Edo state. We are assured from your antecedents that you will take Edo state to a higher level of development to the glory of God”.

In the same vein, former military Governor of the state, Dr. Samuel Ogbemudia who doesn’t think he was superfluous in his congratulatory message said, “I warmly congratulate you, for a very well deserved victory, let me note that from my own analysis of the poll, there is no ward in all the 192 eleectoral wards in Edo state that you did not do well by securing either a clear victory or a pass mark. This, therefore, stands you out as a Pan-Edo Leader right from the beginning.

“It is a rare feat and a great pedestal; an investiture of popular support, legitimacy and confidence. As you prepare for assumption of office, I wish you continued God’s grace, protection and blessings. I trust you to assemble a crack team as your Commissioners, Advisers, and Aides”, the elderstatesman acknowledged.

The Isekhure of Benin, Chief Nosakhare Isekhure, was among the earliest callers who sent in congratulatory message to express his profound congratulations.

According to him, “the road was tortuous but victory assured. I also congratulate your mother and your relations who went round to meet people and solicited their blessings and support for you. I wish you a successful tenure of the Office under God’s guidance.”
