BENIN CITY – The Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), Edo State Council, has said that Obaseki’s victory was a victory for Edo Workers, especially in view of the close working relationship enjoyed with the Governor Adams Oshiomhole led government in the state for the past Eight years.

In a press release dated September 30, 2016 and signed by the State Chairman of NLC, Comrade Emmanuel Ademokun and Secretary, Comrade B.S. Kadiri and made available to The NIGERIAN OBSERVER in Benin City, the congress maintained that the Governor – Elect, Godwin Obaseki and his deputy, Philip Shaibu are bridge builders whose roles influenced the transformation process of the present administration which culminated in infrastructural developments across the state.

The NLC congratulated Godwin Obaseki and his deputy, Philip Shaibu, for emerging victoriously in the just concluded governorship election, while also congratulating Governor Adams Oshiomhole and the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC), for their spirited efforts in ensuring landslide victory.

It opined that the incoming administration of Obaseki led government would promote collective heritage of the people, especially the Edo Workers’ welfare for the purposes of advancing the development of the state to a greater height.

It noted that Governor Oshiomhole had set a template for governance and however urged the people of the state particularly the workers to rally support for Godwin Obaseki and Philip Shaibu to enable them achieve desired results.
