IBADAN - Governor Christopher Adebayo Alao-Akala of Oyo State has reassured the people of the state of his administration’s commitment towards the improvement of their welfare regardless of their political interest.
The state chief executive who declared open a 2-Day Pace Setter Development Summit at the JOGOR Centre in the state capital, said his regime would not rest on its oars until the populace had their own share of democracy through the developmental projects and programmes embarked upon by the government in their respective areas .
“Since the strength of any state lies in its positive impacts on its citizenry, the state administration will continue to embark on developmental projects and programmes that will improve the lot of its citizenry.”
However, he pleaded.
“ We should all be determined to halt the drift towards individualism and personal aggrandizement so that we can grow technologically,” he added.
Alao-Akala who was of the view that the Summit was a follow up to the Retreat organised for top state government functionaries in October last year, told participants that at the end of that Retreat the state government resolved to apply quantitative assessment for the performance of the state government and the development of relevant socio-economicindicators .
