BENIN CITY – The Rector, of the Blessed Tansi Catholic Church, Rev Fr. Patrick Osagie, has called on dedicated Christians to be steadfast in contributing towards anything that will improve the work of God.
Rev Fr. Osagie, made the call during the dedication ceremony of Blessed Tansi Catholic Church, which took place at the church premises, inside Oguola primary school New Benin, on Sunday in Benin City.
He admonished Christians to always reach out to support the work of God and commended those who had voluntarily contributed towards the erection of the edifice.
It will be recalled that the retired Archbishop, Dr. Patrick Ebosele Ekpu had in 2003 given the land to Holy Cross Cathedral to build as well as develop a church in honour of Blessed Tansi, the first Nigerian to be beautified by Pope John Paul II of blessed memory.
High point of the event was the presentation of “Mitre” to the Archbishop of the Metropolitan See of Benin, Most Rv. Dr. Anthony Richard Burke.
Dr. Burke, while dedicating the church, prayed God for his mercies towards the dedication of the house of prayer as well as the temple of worship.
