Unionist Pledges Members Right If Elected

LAGOS - A unionist, Prince Joseph Adefolalu, has pledged to defend the rights of members, if elected vice president of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) in June.

Adefolalu, a former Chairman of the University of Lagos chapter of the union between 2003 and 2009, made the pledge in an interview with newsmen in Lagos.

He said he would inculcate leadership skills in undergraduates through exemplary leadership, and mentoring.
Adefolalu added that he would encourage the establishment of functional zonal secretariats, for the proper co-ordination of the activities of the union.

He also promised that if elected he would fight for the training and retraining of SSANU members, as well as the introduction of better deal for retired members.

Reports say that the election is scheduled to hold from June 15 to June 18 in Zaria, Kaduna State.
