BENIN CITY - The whereabout of a 33 years old woman, Amen Queen Ajayi and children has become a mystery due to her husband's refusal to join the militant group specialised in kidnapping of expatriates in the country.
Amen Queen Ajayi ordeal, according to the family source, started on July 12, 2008, the day her daughter celebrated her birthday which coicided with the day the militant group gave her husband, Mr. Frank Ajayi, who was a contractor for Ejieba Service Company, which provided fuel to Shell, Chevron and NNPC, to join their group to help kidnap one of the expatriates since he knows and used to them so well.
According to the source, Amen Queen Ajayi has no known peace. On July 30th, between 7 and 8am, she and her husband were attacked and subjected to various inhuman treatment till the husband out of duress surrendered that he would join them so as to secure his life and that of his family. But he however escaped when the members of the militant group attacked them again on the 27th August, 2008.
Amen Ajayi, not been able to stand the psychological trauma after her husband failed to keep to his promise of joining the group had to relocate to the father's house, where her father was shot and feared dead, while her mother was equally brutalized to a state of coma currently in a critical condition in an undisclosed hospital in town because they (militant) did not meet their target at home when they came calling on information that she and the children relocated to her father's house. The militants had further warned her and her husband that they will hunt for them, wherever they will run to if he fails to join them.
However, a middle aged man close to Ajayi family house, who wouldn't want his name in print for fear of victimization said the whereabout of the poor Amen, husband and children has become a mystery to everybody. The anonymous source added that though the family blamed the predicament of the family on their daughter and the husband, but still lamented their daughters whereabout, praying to God for their survival and protection wherever they me be.
It was also reliably gathered around that the militants still ravage the area all day and night in search of their target which they have vowed to eliminate any day anytime as the woman's family house had since devoured it's inhabitants for fear of relaunched attack.
