Bishop Imasuen marks 5th anniversary

By CLIFFORD AGBAJOR

BENIN CITY- Members of the Diocese of Benin, Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, have been charged to learn to find solutions to whatever problem facing the Diocese.

The charge was given by the Bishop of Etsako Diocese of the church, Rt. Rev. Jacob Bada, in a sermon, during the thanksgiving service to mark the 5th Consecration/Enthronement of Rt. Rev. Peter Imasuen, as the Bishop of Benin Diocese of Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion which took place at the St. Matthew’s Cathedral of the church, along Sokponba Road, Benin City, yesterday.

Rt. Rev. Bada noted that those at the “Altar” in the diocese were working hard for the progress of the Benin Diocese and therefore stressed the need for members of the diocese to join hands with those at the helm of affairs in the diocese, especially in prayers, for the upliftment of the church.

The man of God urged them to sink their differences and allow unity to be their watchword in whatever they did in the diocese, to ensure that the Benin Diocese which has given birth to other dioceses took its rightful place in the scheme of things.

In his remark, the Bishop of Benin Diocese, Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, Rt. Rev. Peter Imasuen, thanked those who graced the occasion.

He emphasized that he had forgiven those who offended him, just as he pleaded with those he offended to do same.

The Bishop assured that he would continue to carry all members of the diocese, including priests, along in the course of piloting the affairs of the Benin Diocese, with a view to giving them a sense of belonging.

The thanksgiving service also featured the collation of seven Archdeacons, installation of three canons, while ten others, were honoured for their various contributions to the growth and development of the Benin Diocese of the church.
