BENIN CITY – The ceremony marking the opening of the 2008/2009 New Legal Year in Edo State will hold on Friday, November 7, 2008.

A release by Mrs. V.O. Eboreime, Chief Registrar, High Court, stated that the opening ceremony would be marked by a Holy Mass by His Grace, Most Rev. (Dr.) Richard Anthony Burke (SPS), the Arch Bishop of Benin-City, at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Ukhegie Street, off I.C.E. Road, Benin City, beginning from 10 a.m.

This, according to the release, would be followed by an inspection of a Guard of Honour by the Chief Judge of Edo State, Hon. Justice Michael Edokpayi, to be followed by a Special Court Session in High Court No 1, along Sapele Road, Benin-City.
