LG Assures On Qualitative Education

IGUOBAZUWA - Authorities of Ovia South West Local Government Council have restated their desire to improve the welfare of teachers by providing basic amenities that would enhance their comfort and learning process of pupils.


Hon. Joel Osas Oliha, vice chairman of the Council who stood in for the Chairman, Hon. Monday Aighobahi at Iguobazuwa made this known while presenting over 500 desks and chairs to primary schools across the 10 wards in the local government area.


He said that it was part of his electioneering promise to ensure that the era of pupils sitting on bare floor to learn was over stressing that all stakeholders in education should see learning as a necessity in life and pupils should pass through it without stress.


Receiving the desks and chairs, Mr. Ighomo Thomas, Secretary Local Education Authority Ovia South West Local Government area lauded the Council chairman for his developmental strides barely 9 months of assumption in office and described him as a performer.


Mr. Ighomo assured him that the desks and chairs would be evenly distributed and judiciously used in all the primary schools in the area.


Also speaking Mr. A.G. Agho, NUT Chairman Ovia South West Local Government Area thanked the chairman for his people oriented programmes in the area and promised that the desks and chairs would be used judiciously.
