Otaru Tasks Ebira Nation On Unity

IGARRA - The Otaru of Igarra, His Royal Highness Oba B. A Saiki II, J.P has called on the Ebira nation to make her voice formidable and relevant in Local and national issues by rallying round goal-getting and visionary leaders for the ultimate development and transformation of their various communities.


Oba-Saiki II stated this in his Palace at Igarra last weekend when he received a four-man delegation from HRH AIhaji Shuaibu Mamman - Lafiya (MON, OON), the Ohimege of Koton-karfe over his forthcoming 40th Anniversary on the throne of his ancestors.


The monarch observed that Ohimege Igu Koton-karfe being the oldest and most successful Ehira traditional ruler deserved support as he has been a source of wisdom to them.


“This celebration is surely going to bring together the Ebira People both at home and in the Diaspora thereby re-enacting, rejuvenating and rekindling our political and economic consciousness. It will definitely usher-in the much desired unity even though we are in different states”, he said.


Earlier, the leader of the royal delegation, Alhaji Abdullahi M. Bako, the Asaidu Zoko of Koton-Karfe said his people having consulted with the youths, women, leaders and traditional chiefs agreed to give the Ohimege Igu a befitting 40th anniversary.


Alhaji Bako further stated that Ohimege holds Igarra in very high esteem because of her strength in human and natural resources.


“News of your Sons and daughters exploits in and outside the country attests to the fact that you have paid your dues. These. feats coming from people of Ebira stocks are commendable. We would be most honoured to have you and the Igarra community attend this 40th anniversary”, he said.


Other members of the four-man delegation include Alhaji Jibrin Usman - Galadima Daudu; Alhaji Abdullahi Ibrahim - Osumagbelu Zoko and Alhaji Ahmadu Shuaib - Ozeremi Kure.
