BENIN CITY - The Otu-Ede Oseghe, Nigeria, a socio-cultural group of the Binins has commended the judiciary for the landmark judgement which restored Comrade Adams Oshiomhole as the governor of Edo State.
In a statement signed by Okhaemwen and the Esogban of Benin Kingdom and Rt. Hon Osaretin Osadolor, General Secretary stated that the judgement of the Court of Appeal is a victory for the judiciary and the nations nascent democracy, adding that the judiciary will always continue to remain the hope of the ordinary man in the nations democratic project.
The statement further recalled the governor’s antecedence, including the struggle for justice and fair play for the common man. “We also acknowledge the governor’s pronouncement and declarations on the day of his inauguration that, his government would not be driven by “godfatherism” and that he would provide quality education for the people of Edo State” the statement added.
The statement also stated that the ban on all illegal collections in the state is a step in the right direction.
The statement also urged the government to sustain the order despite pressure that may come from different corners.
The group however pledged to collaborate with the peoples’ Governor, Comrade Adams Aliyu, Oshiomhole in the process of actualizing the progressive agenda designed to lift Edo State to greater heights.
