LAFIA - The Nasarawa State Community and Social Development Agency (NSCSDA) has disbursed the sum of N60 million as grants to six communities for rural projects in the state.
The agency’s General Manager, Mrs. Asibi Ogabo, disclosed this in an interview with newsmen in Lafia.
She listed the benefiting communities as Azara and Obene in Keana Local Government Area (LGA), Kwandere in Lafia LGA, Ningo in Akwanga LGA, and Garaku and Kama Madaki in Kokona LGA.
“Each of these communities got N10 million each,’’ Ogabo said.
She said the grants were aimed at giving the communities a better lease of life.
The general manager said the agency was being funded by the state government in collaboration with the World Bank.
She said that for a community to benefit from such grant, its members must hold series of meetings and brainstorm on specific areas of their need. “They must conduct a feasibility study, with a view to selecting their projects for execution.
“When such communities are able to meet the conditions spelt out by the agency, approval will be given for a N10 million grant to enable them execute micro-projects of their choice,” Ogabo said.
