BENIN CITY - As the July 2012 gubernatorial election in Edo State gradually draws near, the executive of the state chapter of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) has resolved to streamline the activities of the various support groups rooting for the re-election of the incumbent governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole across the state.
The state Chairman of the party, Barr. Thomas Okosun hinted yesterday that the state organizing secretary, Barr Frank Erewele had been mandated to work out modalities to harness the activities of the groups for optimum result.
According to the ACN state Chairman, the various support groups had been directed to register with the party Secretariat on Airport Road, Benin City.
Hon. Okosun emphasized that this was necessary in order to properly identify those behind each group and possibly weed out those with sinister or selfish motives.
He however, commended the various groups that have genuinely identified with the party and urged them not to relent in their support to entrench durable democracy and sustainable development in Edo State. Barrister Okosun spoke at a meeting held at the party secretariat yesterday and attended by the secretary of the party, Chief Osaro Idah, Edo South Senatorial leader, chief Amos Osunbor, state organizing secretary, Barr Frank Erewele, state woman leader, madam Modino Emovon among others.
