ABUJA - Senate President David Mark said in Abuja yesterday that the Senate expects to receive the list of nominations for ministerial positions from President Goodluck Jonathan on June 28 (today).
Mark told newsmen that he was sure the president would send the list of nominees. “I hope he sends it tomorrow.’’
On the position of governors over the new minimum wage, Mark pleaded that he should be allowed to do his legislative job, “Am I a governor?,” he asked.
The Senate President said that any area of the constitution that was not in the best interest of the nation would be amended and that priority attention would not be given to only the revenue sharing formula.
“The issue of revenue formula has been on the table for years and it is a constitutional issue.
“We are amending the constitution. Anything that is not in the best spirit of national unity at the moment will be amended.
“It is not just the revenue formula. There is no question of picking out revenue formula for amendment.’’
Mark said the issue of bombings by Boko Haram would be discussed if brought on the floor of the Senate.
