I wish to congratulate our new administration being headed by Governor Adams Oshiomhole. I Thank God for you, your cabinet and the Edo State people in general. I equally want to thank the leadership of the past regime led by Prof. Osariemen Osunbor, who honorably accepted the recent verdict and paved way for the new Administration. Many thanks to the Edo state’s indigence for their patience, prayers and hope for better tomorrow.
Now the did is done what is next? As a true son of my State and a minister of God, I have some words for my Governor and his cabinent body.
What You, Governor Oshiomhole will encounter is not going to be easy, and this you know having gone through a strenuous waiting period that ushered in the Victory. I am convinced that God will see you and your folks through.
Dear Governor needless to remind you that you are undertaking a herculean job with wolves ready to sneak in for a share of the Money from all the coffers—the various allocation. You have before you numerous types of people-including those who pounce from one party to another and those who did not want to see you in this position because they value money than intergrity, who will do all they can directly or otherwise to be in your Administration.
Be like Joshua who set his Leaders and people and said to them to “choose that day who they will serve”.
Our Leaders must make a choice either to serve the Edo State people or their bellies. Many have come and gone who came in Sheep’s clothing but were wolves inwardly and served their insatiable large bellies to their detriment. In the same vein, there were some who put in their best and may God bless them. The past cannot be regained, but we must learn valuable lessons from them.
God requested King Solomon to acknowledge him the God of his Father (David) and to serve him with whole hearted devotion and with a willing mind; for the Lord searches every heart and understand every motive behind the thoughts. God continued to encourage him to seek him and he would be available.
However, if Solomon chooses to forsake God, he would be rejected forever. I really like the next statement. Listen to this my Governor and his cabinent. God has chosen you to build a temple as a Sanctuary.
BE STRONG AND DO THE WORK. Edo State, a conglomeration of many tribes in Nigeria, is chosen by God as his New Jerusalem for a special People and special Governing Body.
This State was initially infested by Demonic forces, but God has turned it to a new Jerusalem by his Choice. Believers have cried to God and when God’s people pray he hears though it may tarry sometimes.
Edo State is God’s Temple and your Administration is told to build it. A tree does not make a Forest, consequently; I believe God will give the wisdom to select/appoint Leaders with Godly hearts to assist you.
The task with the pressure is enormous and there will be some with sheepskins but Wolves in character that will pressurize, coerce and do all directly and indirectly to be in your Cabinent.
Beware of sabotagers! Remember, there was a Judas among Jesus’ twelve; I mean just only twelve.
With God on your side, a story shall be written one day, that there was a second ADAMS who God used to return the glory to EDO State (the New Jerusalem) of Nigeria.
Am I praying for my State and the Governing body? You Bet. Be Strong and do the Work.
Your initial demonstration of your strength (through God) will be seen by your selection or appointment. Mr. Ford, owner of Ford Motors was complimented for his wisdom and strength, but he said it is not me but the people I selected.
There is wisdom and strength in your selection skills. Let the Administration understand that they are on a Mission for God-to rebuild the broken walls of Edo State!
Our State has experienced much degradation beyond description-Unemployment, poor health, structure lacking amenities, Hellish Roads that beckon accidents, Injustice, severe insecurity——Mentioning them chills out my brain. Do the work of rebuilding. We must learn from the past and correct as much as you can and I know this will take time, but a journey of long distance takes courage and work. We can do it.
A TREE cannot make a forest. My People of Edo state- rich, poor, no matter your tribe or ethnicity, no matter your religion, the opportunity is open for us to show our stuff. We are AFR I CANS, endowed with abilities and endurance.
We have to do our part in the rebuilding of our State. We know that our State used to be the Hollywood of the South. During the recent verdict I heard and read how everyone jubilated.
Good! We must translate that act to a patriotic action. How? Change the athtude of vandalizing your properties (you call it Government’) whenever you do not have your ways because this is barbaric.
The Government ends up spending billions of Naira to fix your mess before taking care of your necessities. Here again is need to award contract to contractors to do the work.
You know how honest some contractors are. Moreover, it is a distraction and it takes time off the very needed actions. This may seems to you simple but it is called Economic waste. Many people die, get hurt and suffer mental anguish and the list can go on.
The Government is yours, and the welfare of the EDO STATE is in your hand, you choose few people to work for you and those people use your finances to do good job for you and when you are dissatisfied you make changes through a mechanism call “ELECTION’. Get it!
Secondly, think and work to improve your State by involving yourself in some productive acts - For example, do some forms of farming, learn some skills, everybody can not travel out to U.S. Be patriotic by cleaning your environment, stop defecating your environment, littering the roads, etc.
Great Nations are built by the People and ours can equally be built because God is on our side.
Families make up the community and community makes up the people and people make up the Government- You are the Government and the power to change our Nation and State is in your hand.
I applaud you my people for some good programs already in place. Such programs like Organized community Security which has curbed robbery to some extent. Report illegal activities to the authority and assist the innocent who get beat up on the street. Nothing is impossible.
STOP INHUMANITY. The inhumanity of the assassins and robberies, those who send them, malhandling of others must stop. Parent must get more involved with their children by being more observant of their activities. You cannot pretend to be unknowledgeable if your child is a robber, involvement with 419,or some illegal activities.
Moreover, the religious circle must participate in rebuilding our community. Yes, you have been but we need more of it.
However, we must discourage, preach and teach hellish messages if it takes that to warn the Sinners - robbers, assassins, otters of government funds.
In addition, some pastors who turned the ministries to money making machineries through devilish practices must stop it.
We must warn the sinners with love and stop condoning everything goes attittude. We need money for the ministries but remember God will judge the intentions of your hearts. Changes must start from the house of God.
I thank God for the spiritual leaders who not only pray, teach and help to build our Nation’s and States’’spiritual, and economic welfares.
We must learn from our past and improve our lives in our God loving State.
Let us take a look at some examples from the Scripture. I read that king Saul was chosen by God ,but he repeatedly ignored the instructions of God.
He, rather, was bent upon pleasing the people instead of desiring to do Gods Job/work; consequently, he was replaced by David.
There was a King who by norms of the day was not supposed to be the King but was chosen by God against all odds. He was blessed with wisdom.
He was a God fearing man initially but was lured into idol worshipping by his many wives from strange lands and their idols. This was a very bad influence from people with strange gods (goals and ambitions). My people, leaders and men of ‘God watch who influences you and mentors you. In the latter days he became corrupt and this led to the disintegration of his great Kingdom. Lord have mercy.
There was another person who was also chosen against all odds.
This was David the man after God’s heart; he fought to set his people free even when he was nothing and without appointment nor recognition, he set his heart to do the work (to eradicate the reproach on his and the people of God, he fought Goliatth the Liar,).
He emerged a victor and not a Victim ,so shall it be with all who set their hearts to serve my people and the State. God has chosen to set his name. Amen!
He had his myriads of faults and serious some were, God stood with him, defended, gave him long life and the Nation found peace in the midst of turbulence, austerities, cacophonies and famine.
The report written of him declared” “there was Peace in Jerusalem and the NATION”.
My Edo State people, the administration Religious leaders and my Governor,! salute you; without GOD we can not do anything. We all, I mean all, are proned to fleshly desires, aggradizements, jejune bablements, gerulousities and bunch of other things, but with God on our sides and our hearts set on doing the work for God’s sake, we can do all things through Christ that strengthens us.
Again, though much said, Congratulation and God’s super guidance and wisdom to you. Remember you are in my prayers and you have nothing to worry about, only trust in God’s sufficient grace.(1 Timothy 2 Vs.1-3).
