UGBOGUI –Garri warehouse and a park attached to the warehouse are to be built at Ugbogui in Ovia South West Local Government Area of Edo State.
This will ease the storage while the people can easily locate where such product can been found. Hon. Monday Aighobahi, Chairman of the council made this known at Ughogui while inspecting project at Ugbogui and environs.
He said the idea of storage welfare was long overdue for the people in the area stressing that Ugbogui market was a very big market that serves a lot of villages in that area.
According to him it is a centre point of distribution of foodstuff to the Southwest states and Edo State. Hon. Aighobahi noted that since his assumption of office he had embarked on a lot of projects aimed at alleviating the plight of the people. He said two lock-up stores of about five stores each had been built and additional one block of lock-up stores are being planned.
He said that the sinking of borehole at Ugbogui which had proved difficult for past administrations had been sunk by his administration and that water now flows for the market people for use adding that toilet facilities will be provided for their convenience.
On the issues of giving out the lock up stores, Hon. Aighobahi said the stores would be given to genuine trades and not those who will act as middle-men between the council and the would-be traders stressing that these are meant for the people who sell daily in the market.
