Chief Imam appeals to Oba of Benin

By MONDAY OISE

BENIN CITY ––The Chief Imam of Benin, Alhaji Abdul-Fatai Enabulele has appealed to the Omo N’Oba to use his position to advise those in authority to use the God given wealth that abound in the country to better the lives of the people.

Alhaji Enabulele made the appeal when he led Muslim faithful in the state to the palace as part of the Sallah homage to the Oba.

He said the country was blessed with both human and natural resources, and it was his prayer that God should touch the hearts of the leaders for them to show kindness to the poor people and harness these resources for the benefit of all.

He added that the central theme of Ramadan was generosity, giving to those who do not have and to love them as ones-self.

The Chief Imam prayed for the Oba and members of his household, that God should continue to give him long life and wisdom to lead the people, adding that the Oba’s reign has been very peaceful and good for the Muslim community and the people of the state.

He thanked the Oba for the care and for providing food items during the fasting period.

The Benin Monarch, His Royal Majesty, Omo N’Oba Uku Akpolokpolo reminded them of the need to continue to pray for the peace and unity of the country, noting that it is when there is peace and unity that there can be progress.
