Muslims mark Eid-El-Fitri with prayers

By KEN ABU

BENIN CITY - Activities to mark the end of the 30-day Ramadan fast were observed yesterday at the Ikpoba slope Muslim prayer ground when the Chief Imam of Benin, Alhaji Abdul Fatai Enabulele offered prayers for Muslim faithful in Benin City in celebration of the Eid-El-Fitri.

The Chief Imam, while admonishing faithful to emulate the exemplary life of the Prophet Muhammad, charged them to shun social vices capable of destabilizing the existing peace and unity that bound the people together as a nation.

He stressed that it was high time our leaders in government started implementing masses-oriented programmes aimed at improving the quality of lives of the people, saying that selfless service to humanity was fundamental to human developmental progress.

Meanwhile, the Mogagi of Benin Muslims, Alhaji R. Giwa-Osagie has posited that Nigerians must seek the face of Allah in the actualization of the pursuit of their endeaovurs.

Speaking with The NIGERIAN OBSERVER shortly after the prayer for the celebration of Id-El-Fitri at the Ikpoba slope prayer ground, Alhaji Giwa-Osagie opined that in order to be genuine beneficiaries of Allah’s infinite mercy and favour, Nigerians must adopt the right attitude to the way things are done.
