Muslim Pilgrims Board begins screening


BENIN CITY – Edo State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, has fixed October 22 and 26, 2008, for the screening of intending pilgrims for 2008 Hajj.


A statement signed by the Chairman, Edo State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Kasimu Ozeto (JP), stated that screening of intending pilgrims in Benin centre, would take place on Wednesday, October 22, 2008, at the Board’s Secretariat, No. 3, Ogomosun Street, Off Dumez Road, Benin City, at 9.00 a.m., while that of Auchi centre, will hold at the Etsako West Local Government Council hall, Auchi, on Sunday, October 26, 2008, at 9.00 a.m.


The statement urged all intending pilgrims, including government delegates to attend the screening exercise in any of the centre convenient for them, adding that they should come along with 12 passport coloured photographs with white background, if the background of the one already submitted to the Board is not white.


The release similarly urged them to come along with their yellow cards as evidence to show that they have been vaccinated.
