LAGOS - As the Christmas festivity approaches, the Lagos State Police Command yesterday advised residents not to embrace strangers in public as such persons may be out to pick their wallets.
Giving tips on security measures before the Yuletide, the command said that residents should be cautious when patronising private commercial vehicles popularly called ‘kabu-kabu’.
The registration number of such vehicles should be recorded, the command suggested.
The list of security hints which was signed by Police spokesman Mr. Frank Mba, advised motorists to be mindful of how they offer lift to strangers, as some of them may turn out to be robbers.
Besides, Mr. Mba advised the public to hold tight to their bags and pockets to avoid being robbed by pick-pockets in crowded bus stops.
For those who patronise banks regularly, the command said that they should be observant inside and outside bank premises in order not to be trailed by robbers.
