Christians Urged To Obey Laws

ABUJA- Rev. Fr. Michael Gokum has in Abuja , urged Christians to always obey the laws of the governing authorities so that God’s plan would not be frustrated.

Gokum, the parish priest of SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Nyanya, stated this in an interview with newsmen.

“God’s plan for our lives far exceeds our imaginings. It includes obedience to the laws of governing authorities,” he said. Gokum urged Christians to put God first in their day to-day activities because the Almighty said apart from Him, “you can do nothing”.

He stressed that if those that believed in Jesus Christ proclaim Him by the way they
lived their lives, the world would be a better place for all. Gokum urged all to be contented with whatever they have so that they could enjoy a long and happy life. He added that each person has a different gift from God.

“As all fingers are not equal, so is our gifts from God. It is only our life that is equal.

So, we should not be in a hurry to achieve all we want but wait unto God,” he said. Gokum prayed that Christian should have their hearts penetrated by the light of the holy spirit so that they might recognise and respond to God’s plan for them.
