BENIN CITY ––Edo State Governor, Prof. Oserheimen Osunbor has advised and encouraged the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) Post Mortem Sub-Committee of the Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC), to continue its good work for the benefit of Nigerians who he says also appreciate FAAC’s effort.
At the FAAC Post Mortem sub-committee’s visit to Government House, Benin City yesterday, the governor noted that the sub-committee plays a very important and unique role in the country.
According to Prof. Osunbor, at the end of every month, governors and other Nigerians in the country look up to it to ascertain the current situation, especially as the sub-committee reviews and evaluates the activities of FAAC and RMAFC, pointing out that it was a pride that the sub-committee was contributing to the success of the Commission.
Earlier, the Chairman of the FAAC Post Mortem Sub Committee of RMAFC, Chief John Mankilik explained that members of the Sub-Committee were on a retreat in Benin City to X-ray the sub-committee’s achievements, challenges and prospects for the future optimal results, thereby repositioning it as a major vehicle for instituting fiscal discipline, transparency and accountability both at the national and sub-national level.
He explained that the choice of Benin City as venue for the retreat was timely and deserving, considering Edo State as peaceful and hospitable as well as an ideal reflection of fiscal discipline and good governance, particularly under the able and purposeful leadership of Prof. Osunbor.
Chief Mankilik commended the governor for achieving a drastic infrastructural transformation in Edo State which he attributed to the visionary, erudite and scholastic leadership of Prof. Osunbor.
