Airport Manager Charges ACHAN

ABUJA - The Management of Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja, has urged the leadership of the Airports Car Hire Association of Nigeria (ACHAN) to reposition the association for efficient service.

Mr. Chris Bature, the Manager, Abuja Airport, made the call in Abuja at a send forth ceremony held for two members of the association who retired recently.

“The present structure of ACHAN cannot sustain it for the next five years. There is need to restructure the association to enable it to render efficient services.

‘’The Airports are wearing new look now as a result of the on going reforms in the Aviation industry. So, you have to change along,’’ he said.

Bature said the Airports were the association’s main industry urging them to develop themselves in order to meet up with the challenges of modern car hire services.

He congratulated the retirees and wished them success in their future endeavour.

Chief Ekwuemeaku Edom, the Association National President, said the association had taken steps toward its repositioning.

According to him, the association was partnering with some banks to assist its members to buy befitting vehicles.

This, he said, would enable members of the association to compete with other car hire services in the World.

He advised members to be transparent and honest with their passengers advising them not to short-change their customers.

In their remarks, the retirees, Mr. Kayode Sanusi and Mr. Ichie Ochuba, thanked God for granting them journey mercies throughout the 20 years they were on the road.
