Before I knew him, I was very skeptical about him just like some people out there. This impression was based on the misinformation about him in the public domain. However, through business deals as a Property Agent, we came to recognize ourselves. On further enquiries about him, I discovered how he became the BIG FISH of Benin Kingdom.
He was hatched as a small fish in the ocean. He escaped the turbulent waves of the sea and the onslaught of the big

fishes of the ocean to become a Big fish himself. Now as a Big fish, he refused to swallow up the small fishes of the ocean because he believed that the young shall grow. Hence he protected the smaller fishes from the mouth of other assumed bigger fishes. But he would resist any attack of other bigger fishes that would come his way.
The small fish who now became the Big Fish is BOB IZUA or IZUWA if permitted to broaden the name in another way in Bini language, meaning (1 have chosen wealth). The ocean the fish was hatched in and became a Big fish is Benin City. The smaller fishes he protected are the poor masses. He is a reputable man, like other Bini indigenes. He built up his personality here in Bemn City. His wealth does not come from north nor from the east, neither from the west but from the south, here in Benin City. Because he was born to live, born to survive by God Jehovah, in Benin Kingdom. He has become second Bini person to project the Bini and the Palace in the whole world.
There is this adage in Bini language which says, “Instead of you to trouble the wealthy man who is above you, you better beg him to prosper your life.” BOB IZUA is the above man. In Bini Kingdom, after the Palace of the Qba of Benin, Ekpenede Street, the Home base of Chief John Osamede Adun, the AYOBAHAN of Benin Kingdom is the second busiest compound in the city. The place is free to anybody to visit; then watch and count the number of visitors or people that go in and come out from the compound. You will watch in disbelief of the wrong story of the man you were told as you see Bob Izua either standing or sitting down for hours attending and solving people’s problems. Who are the people? The young, the old, the average, students from different schools and higher institutions, the farmers, market men and women, unions and associations; Government officials, politicians, the infirm and healthy are not left out. And all these from various parts of the country.
Why the in flock of people to his house you may ask? Because the AYOBAHIAN OF BENIN KINGDOM who is like any other human being that is not totally righteous nor totally unrighteous, tries hard to listen to people and do something to relieve them of their problems to the best God has given him wisdom to do.
In my capacity, I urge everyone to watch out more of him as a captain of industry, business mogul who has never failed in business establishment, because he feeds many mouths everyday and thousands of workers every month on pay roll. The Chief receives and answers hundreds of phone calls everyday, both national and international; apart from his international business engagements. In my capacity. I have seen and witnessed those who misjudged him before sincerely come back to him.
Before the end of this temporary world we are living (Matthew 6:9,10, Dan. 2:44); for economic reasons and improvement, let more of Bob Izua come out; inPetroleum, in Bread, in Water, in Schools, in Hotel, in Farms, in Management, in Community development, etc. This will reduce unemployment in Nigeria, Edo state in particular.
In my Capacity: if there is no other BOB IZUA in the above chain of companies, let those concerned citizens of the same mind, and those who have benefited from his generosity, rally round him and pray for him for many more years of life and good health. According to another Bini adage, which says: He who shows appreciation for kindness, would want another kindness yet to be done.
The Ayobahan of Benin Kingdom deserves appreciation for all his endeavors to humanity. He believes in justice, in peace, in humility, in fair play, in kindness, in humanitarianism. He accepts his mistakes, he is not proud of his wealth. For those who offend him and show remorse he will easily forgive because his anger does not last the distance. But be informed that the CAT will never allow you to throw his back to the ground no matter how long is the play or friendship. That is personality in animal world. CHIEF J. 0. ADUN, JP fears God and is wholly loyal to the Benin Monarch. OBA GHA TO OKPERE, ISE.
In my Capacity, I would welcome and lead any body who would like to hear from Bob Izua his own side of the stories, because the Big Fish is never hidden in the ocean.
