FUGAR - In a bid to maximize revenues generated internally by it , the management of Etsako Central local Government is to privatize internal revenue collection.

A memo endorsed by one J.A Bello for the chairman listed some major markets and motor parks within the locality as some of the facilities whose revenues will no longer be handled by staff of the council but by private entrepreneurs.

Among the markets and motor parks are Arua Market Fugar, Ugbekpe –Ekperi , Udaba Markets .Others include Fugar motor park , Anegbette motor park as well as all the lorry garages in the local area.

Other facilities affected included all bill boards and banners displayed in the locality.

Meanwhile top council officials who spoke on the rationale for private sector involvement noted that the thinking of the authorities is to improve on its revenue drive which accordingly has not been impressive .

The source also admitted that the new development is not an indictment on the staff of the council earlier saddled with such responsibilities.
