Ehima Assures Mayor Of Supports

BENIN CITY - Oredo Local Government Council has assured of its preparedness to contribute its quota to sustain the pet project of the Mayor of the Borough of Barking and Dageham, London, Rev. Emmanuel Obasoham, because of the project’s relevance to impact positively on the lives of Oredo people in particular.

Council Chairman, Hon. Mike Nosa-Ehima, who gave the assurance during the dinner organised in honour of the Mayor and Mayoress of the Borough of Barking and Dageham, London, Rev. and Mrs. Obasohan, at the Edo State government House, maintained that Oredo Local Government was prepared to partner with positive minded initiatives that could transform the people meaningfully and improve their well-being.

Hon. Nosa-Ehima noted that the commanding interest shown in the project by the Edo State Government had greatly elicited his administration’s commitment to continue to provide its own quota, so that the project would not only survive, but achieve the set objectives of lifting people out of disease, ignorance and extreme insensitivity to good neighborliness.

The Oredo Council boss commended the Mayor, Rev. Obasohan, for not only bringing honour to Edo State and Nigeria as the first black Mayor of the Borough of Barking and Dageham, London, but also for pioneering the volunteer social service initiative in the metropolitan Local Government Areas of Oredo, Egor and Ikpoba-Okha, in the areas of education, health and security.

Since the project of Mayor Obasohan flagged off with the 1st Niger Delta Marathon Race, Oredo council had been very visible. The council boss, Hon. Nosa-Ehima took part in the Marathon Race from the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium to the Edo State Government House, where he assured that he would keep the flame of the project burning.

A one-day training hosted by Oredo Local government, for the over one hundred and sixty volunteers who have so far indicated their interest to help the project achieve success had been held.

Mayor Obasohan had told the trainee volunteers that they would help in ensuring that students and pupils stayed in classes during school hours as well as help monitor the recovery of discharged patients from hospitals to prevent them from relapsing into dangerous unhealthiness thereafter.
