Esan Central chairman inspects market


IRRUA- Last month’s (August 2008), State Environmental Sanitation Exercise in Esan Central Local Government Area was observed in the locality.


The Council’s Chief Executive, Hon. Barr. Emmanuel Agbale led other top management staff of the council to some areas, including the Irrua Main Market, the Ewu Market and Ugbegun areas respectively.


At the Irrua Main Market, the council boss frowned at the absence of the councils hired pay loader and the tipper lorries meant for the evacuation of the heaps of refuse to the approved government dump site and instructed they should be relocated back to site.


When the council team visited Ewu market and Ugbegun it was observed that work was going on progressively.


Addressing the team of journalists who accompanied them during the inspection exercise, the council boss harped on the need for the good people of Esan Central Local Government Area to imbibe the culture of a clean environment.


He appealed to the traders and the residents to stop dumping refuse indiscriminately while emphasising that the issue would be accorded priority by his administration with the provision of giant refuse bins to the areas of need.


On the entourage of the council boss were the Vice Chairman, Hon. Francis Ubene, the SLG, Hon. Theopilus Oseigba and the Director of Environment, Mr. Asibor amongst others.


Earlier, the Onojie of HRH Onojie Godfrey Ehidiamen II had formally handed over to the council chairman Hon. Barr. Emmanuel Agbale, the 500 KVA transformer earlier donated by the NDDC for installation in Opoji community.


Receiving the transformer, the council boss expressed appreciation for the kind gesture and promised that it would be put into use as soon as possible and appealed to the residents of the locality to guard it against vandals.


Those who witnessed the handing over ceremony include Chief (Dr.) Francis Inegbeneki, the leader of the PDP in Esan Central Local Government Area and other personalities.
