Uhunmwode LG chairman gets award


ILE-IFE - Uhunmwode Local Government Council Chairman, Barrister John Aghaleladia Obazee was Saturday honoured in the ancient city of Ile-Ife, by Law Students Society (LSS) of the Faculty of Law, Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), at the University’s sports complex.


Barrister Obazee, an Alumnus of the faculty, was honoured with a merit award for outstanding performance in the Nigerian polity.


The ALGON publicity secretary was represented on the occasion by his vice, Hon. Harrison Orobor.
The citation on Barrister Obazee was greeted by a thunderous ovation from the capacity crowd at the sports complex.


Saturday’s event marked the end of a week-long activity by students of the Ife Law Faculty.
Barrister Obazee was the only political awardee presented with a souvenir by the Osun State House of Assembly Deputy Speaker, Hon. Ropo Oyewole.


Hon. Orobor who received the award on behalf of Uhunmwode council boss, described him as an epitome of success, hardwork and humility, adding that he was not surprised.


The chairman’s Media Assistant, Mr. Raymond Osogbe, said more accolades are expected to follow owing to Obazee’s strategic initiative to rescue Uhunmwode’s ailing infrastructures. Mr. Osogbe added that Obazee was on a genuine rescue mission to re-define Uhunmwode with new spirit, thinking and vision.


Present at the occasion were Hon. Ropo Oyewole, Deputy Speaker of Osun State House +of Assembly, Comrade Osi Gideon Osi, President Pan African students leadership forum, Hon. Clement Egharevba, Supervisor for Education, Hon. Fredricks Osatohanmwen; Supervisor Special Duties, amongst others.
