ABUJA-The Nigeria Football Federation are not aware that Super Eagles captain and vice, Nwankwo Kanu and Joseph Yobo have pulled out of the team to play against South Africa this weekend.
NFF’s media officer, Ademola Olajire told KickOffNigeria.com that the Federation have not been informed by the two players that they will not make the game.
“Maybe they told the coaches, but I know they have not communicated with the Federation yet,” Olajire told KickOffNigeria.com.
“If they eventually cannot come, the Federation will talk to the coaches and if they want replacements I am sure some others can be called up at short notice but if not, the team will continue without them.
“I am sure we have players in that team that can hold their own for the Eagles without Kanu, Yobo and the other injured players.”
The Eagles have been hit with injuries of late as John Mikel Obi and Obafemi Martins had previously been replaced with Chris Obodo and Joseph Akpala.
