BENIN CITY - Two prominent Gynaecologists of Edo State origin have been selected to appear in Edo State most prestigious Who is Who Almanac for 2009.

They are Professor Friday Okonofua who is the Dean of College of Medicine, Uniben and Professor Osato Giwa-Osagie who is Head of Gynaecology University of Lagos.

These two Professors are connected one way or the other with the first test-tube baby operations.
Speaking to journalists, the chairman of selection committee, Alhaji Mohammed Biu, expressed joy that the two great doctors are from Edo State.

He told newsmen that the standard for selecting personalities for the 2009 almanac would not be compromised.

Also speaking, the Co-ordinator of Edo State chapter of the Image Makers Organization, Mr. Steve Onwueme expressed satisfaction at the good work done by the selection team, headed by Alhaji Biu.

Other personalities selected in the academic category include Professor D.O Aigbomian, JP who is the Vice-Chancellor of A.A.U, Professor E.E Okpere CMD of UBTH and the Rector of Federal Polytechnic Auchi, Dr. (Mrs.) Phillipa Idogho.
